The sea battle goes poorly for Elric and he must call on Straasha to rescue he and his companions. Once in safety, he plans a mission to obtain the Chaos Shield. He succeeds, but his sword takes the life of Rackhir the Red Archer. Upon his return, he must face Zarozinia, his love, whom Chaos has made into a monster.
