Yyrkoon takes advantage of Elric's weakened state at the close of battle to send him to a watery grave. King Straasha, the water elemental, rescues Elric, giving him his chance for vengeance. Yyrkoon escapes, and Elric calls on his patron god, Arioch, Lord of Chaos, to aid him on his race for the Black Sword, Stormbringer.
