Ben storms out of the Baxter Building in a huff and runs into Thundra. She needs his help in her time, so Ben travels to the future to help her. He defeats the rebellion and she asks him to marry her. Ben declines, since it means he can never return to his time, but then he realizes that if he can move to the future, why can't he revisit the past? He convinces Thundra to send him back to the moment before the Secret Wars started, then he changes history and stays on earth. He convinces Alicia to marry him, but backs out at the last moment when he realizes that he would be living a lie. He returns to his own time, miserable as ever.
