The Silver Surfer turns on his master and Galactus is now in a fight with someone who can match his power. The Fantastic Four stand by helplessly as the battle rages on until Johnny finally returns with the one weapon that can stop Galactus.
The Ultimate Nullifier in the hands of humans makes Galactus stop and leave Earth but not before he strips the Silver Surfer of his herald powers and leaves him stranded on Earth, where Ben mistakes an exchange between Alicia and the Silver Surfer for him being dumped.
With Galactus gone, things go back to normal as Johnny goes off to college.
