Victor Conrad is mixture of art dealer and swindler. He sees a painting of 'Five Frightened Men' in a gallery which he feels compelled to buy, but is refused by the gallery owner. He returns to steal the piece, but the painting has a curse. The next morning on the wall of the gallery, the owner must rename the piece 'Six Frightened Men'. 5 pages.

An inventor falls in love with a woman who spurs his advances. In a jealous rage, he creates a robot to do what he could not, murder the girl. When the robot returns with the girl unharmed, she reveals that she herself is a robot, and the two automatons turn on the inventor. 7 pages.
