Continued from Marvel Spotlight (1971) #12.
Son of Satan's taxi service leaves Ghost Rider and Witch Woman destitute in the Arizona desert. With no means of further transport to the nearest populated town, Witch Woman coaches the nascent scion of Satan to wield his Hellfire in concentrated style to create solid objects.
Ghost Rider needs wheels, and conjures a fully formed chopper motorcycle. Linda Littletree's lost her powers after Daimon Hellstrom had traded with his father to release her soul. Therefore, she cannot ride alongside the Hellfire bike. Johnny, regrettably leaves her behind after promising to raise help in the nearest town.
Within sight of the highway, the sun starts to rise and Johnny's ride fades. So close, yet so far away. Blaze crumples to the tarmac, causing a huge smash-up on the Interstate.
Poor little virgin, Roxanne Simpson has got herself kidnapped by "Big Daddy Dawson", perhaps a name veiling some sort of inadequacy. Dawson hits upon a blackmail scheme, learning of Blaze's hospitalization.
The ruffian shows he's not the sharpest tool in the box by driving Roxy to the hospital where Blaze is recuperating under police guard. However, it is the ghoulish flaming skull of Ghost Rider that greets him there.
Ghost Rider displays a previously untoward ruthless streak by causing Dawson to crash headlong into traffic.
Ghost Rider creates a "flame cycle" for the very first time.
