"Within the Swamp, There Stirs... a Glob!"
As the Hulk leaves Costa Salvador, he leaps across Florida, but tragically comes into the path of a test tactical missile, and the resultant explosion blows him into the swamps.
This news finds its way to General Ross, who comes in pursuit, with Betty and Glenn Talbot in tow. The Hulk, meanwhile, finds that his legs were injured in the blast, and, for the time being, he must walk his way out of the swamp.
He comes across a shed, and hoping to find assistance finding his way out of the swamp, instead finds only a government stockpile of nuclear waste. In anger, he scatters the containers, which seep into the swamp.
The waste mixes with the elements of the swamp, and washes over the corpse of an escaped convict, who rises from the depths as the monster known as the Glob.
Meanwhile, the Army has located the Hulk, and readies itself for an attempt to capture him. While preparing, however, the Glob strikes, kidnapping Betty. He crosses paths with the Hulk, whose instinct is to protect Betty.
The Hulk senses a kinship with the Glob, and also senses that the Glob's short life is coming to an end. The Hulk rescues Betty as the Glob dissolves into nothingness. This is witnessed by General Ross and Talbot, and the Hulk surrenders Betty to their care before disappearing into the swamp (20 pages).
