"... A Man's Home is His Battlefield!"
Villains aplenty, Iron Man proves his mettle with devastating impact. Justin Hammer's hired super-villain army falls like the proverbial chaff before the Armored Avenger.
Hammer realizes that discretion is the better part of valor, and prepares to make a hasty withdrawal on his floating island. Not before Shellhead launches an aerial attack and sinks the vessel.
Back in the U.S., charges of murder are dropped against Iron Man, and the Mayor of New York returns his impounded spare armor. However, the public aren't quite so quick to forgive or forget what had gone before, which leads Tony Stark to feel more than a little alienated and in need of a stiff drink, or two.
An unhealthy combination of excess alcohol and a badly scrawled address, lead to Tony missing an appointment with Bethany Cabe, so Stark marches off to find consolation elsewhere.
Late into the evening at Avengers Mansion, Jarvis is disturbed by suspicious noises coming from the computer room. It's only Tony with some transitory floozy draped all over him.
When Jarvis seeks to remind Stark of the increased security measures now in place, Stark, in turn reminds Jarvis of his place as a humble servant.
This public rebuke leads Jarvis to tender his resignation, effective immediately the next day as Tony Stark is suffering a hangover.
