Skeeter Reems fails at spying on Joe, so he devises a plan to have his girlfriend Thelma Keely flirt her way into Joe's confidence. It doesn't work on Joe, but it sure does on Jerry. (6 pages)
"As the Fight Draws Near"
Thelma makes sure that Joe comes along on all of her dates with Jerry, so she can make her move on Joe. Skeeter gets the feeling that Thelma isn't just spying anymore, and she confirms it; she has fallen for Joe. Skeeter, dejected, spreads the lie that Joe has been defaming the Navy. (8 pages)
