*October 25,1978. The movie "Halloween" hit the big screen and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" released a few years prior to that. Both would become cult classics in the years to come. These movies were horrifically epic stories on the big screen that kept the audience on the edge of their seats. Because of that, people didn't just fear the dark, but rather, what was in the dark. Are there really Creatures hiding in the night?
Knox County is in upper Nebraska nestled along side of the Missouri and Niobrara rivers, Niobrara is one of the small town there in. The people of Niobrara more than likely haven't seen the a fore mentioned movies. After all, the nearest movie theater is more than 50 miles away and most of the town folk are just south of poor. They have lived in recluse for generations, far from the big city life.
Emma and her parents are returning from picking up seed in Norfolk. It's been a long day for the trio and dad is on the edge of a blow up. All it takes is the sound of his daughters voice to set him off. Within 5 miles from home, Dad drags his daughter from the truck and makes her walk the rest of the way home, a common occurrence with Emma's father. With dark nearing Emma decides to take a shortcut through the corn fields, even though she knows that she has to pass by the old deserted Peterson farm.
She had heard stories of why no one lived there for the past 11 years. Something about a murder/suicide and missing children, after all, she was only 6 when it happened. The only thing is they never found all the bodies. The stories never scared Emma. No, it was that damn Scare Crow between the Peterson's land and home. That, for some reason, scared her to no end. *Source: kickstarter.com
