"Phantoms of Paradise!"
Frank "Madman" Einstein has inherited the house in which he grew up. He goes to see if he can conjure any memories that will lift the veil that is over so much of his past. The mysterious voice that has been speaking in his head grows stronger, and Madman encounters some spirits that keep him on edge. Ultimately he meets the person behind the voice, Zacheous, a visitor from the spiritual realm who's job it is to guide the disturbed spirits of the departed. He claims to be old friend with the spirit that is the essence of Frank Einstein / Zane Townsend. He also gives Franks some clues about the nature of existence prior to departing, plus tells Frank that he will be reunited with Joe, and that he needs to get to Dr. Flem's quickly.

Mike Allred is a huge fan of pop music culture, and the character Zacheous is fashioned after Allred's all-time favorite, David Bowie in the incarnation of Aladdin Sane. You will find Bowie lyrical references throughout Allred's work, as well as other pop references (e.g. Frank's friend, alien Mott the Hoople).
