Ms. Marvel, while on patrol, is attacked by the mysterious Death-Bird as a debt to M.O.D.O.K. and barely escapes. Carol Danvers' apartment has been fire-bombed because of some important documents she was safeguarding. At work, J. Jonah Jameson is trying to undermine her position at her magazine. Ms. Marvel gets caught in a power struggle between M.O.D.O.K. and A.I.M.
