In a flashback to the recent explosion at Chicago Police Headquarters, we see how the empty Overlord armor had been found in an abandoned building and brought back to headquarters. It was this that destroyed HQ, then flew off under the remote control of Octopus and OpenFace. But now a new player has taken control and donned the armor. The mystery man has approached Dragon with an offer of cooperation, but Dragon doesn't buy it. Elsewhere, Daredevil has yet to become aware of the identity of the young lady he rescued, the murderous Alison Summers...and one of the Little Wise Guys will pay for that.

Vanguard has monitored his sector of space while his race is at war with the Tyrrians, but he gets a message from his home world of Kalyptus, telling him the war is won and over, time to come home. He is reluctant to leave Roxy behind, but he is unaware of the truth...that the message was a ruse. The Tyrrians have subjugated Kalyptus, and are calling all warriors home...for extermination.
