"Conan and the Spider God, Part III: Death Stalks a Well-Tended Garden"
In the Zamoran city of Yezud, Conan bides his time, posing as Nial, a blacksmith, awaiting his opportunity to rescue the woman Jamilah from the clutches of Harpagus, so that he can bargain to remove the death sentance he earned in Turan. Jamilah is the favorite wife of King Yildiz of Turan, whose gratitude could buy this boon for Conan. Things are complicated with Conan's affections for one of the Temple girls, and his temptation to steal the Temple jewels in the process of the rescue. He liberates Jamilah, but remains behind to try to win the temple girl and the jewels, a risky venture, now that he is suspected of kidnapping Jamilah. (45 pages).
