Asgard rejoices at their victory over the Rock Trolls, but Thor's intuition tells him that Earth has gone too long without its protector. He is all too correct, as a mysterious doll-sized synthazoid is found that grows every time it is touched. When it awakens and goes on a rampage, it's master, Kang the Conqueror, arrives.
