Him (later Adam Warlock) has attempted to steal Sif as his companion, and the Warrior's Madness has descended on Thor. He battles Him without mercy, and all this is witnessed by Odin. Him barely escapes with his life, sending his cocoon into space while he heals. Odin knows that Thor must redeem himself for this ignoble crime, and so sentences him to a mission to face the dread Galactus. Meanwhile, Karnilla has Haag the Seeress weave a new enchantment to entrap Balder.
