Two reluctant come to a small town, one who is the promoter, the other a hot-headed fighter in duels to the death. Fate conspires to bring Usagi, who killed the promoters last fighter, and the widow of the dead fighter to the same place. The promoter forces Usagi into a duel. "Battlefield, Part 3"
Young Usagi walks the desolate battlefield with the sword he has stolen from the dead soldier, and Usagi is unsettled. It is Usagi's intent to return the sword to the dead soldier, so he can be rid of the man's spirit. Usagi is caught by survivors, who think him a looter. They intend to serve his sentence, severing his hand. Lord Mifune interrupts, and perceives the innocent character of the boy, and orders his release. 8 pages.
