"Southern Hospitality"
A man marries into a Southern family, thinking it wealthy, but finds their wealth has dwindled. He slowly steals treasures to sell from the family home until a departed ancestor brings it to an end. 8 pages.
"The Jellyfish!"
Charles and Howard are brothers, and own a pharmaceutical company, and receive an order for a million doses of medicine. They have only half the doses in stock, and Charles suggests they dilute the doses to fill the order. Howard refuses, and Charles brands him a jellyfish. Charles does the deed behind Howard's back, and when patients start dying, it is Howard who goes to jail. Howard he concocts an appropriate remedy for revenge. 7 pages.
"Two Raps!"
A man visits a medium to communicate with his recently departed Uncle. His question is if he will die in a similar fashion as his Uncle. To this, he receives two raps, the signal for yes. Later, he feels invisible hands about his throat, and voices 'Can I be dying?', to which he receives the reply...two raps. 2 pages, text only.
"Daddy Lost His Head!"
A girl is despised by her step-father, but is befriended by an odd old lady, who gives her a candy shaped like a man. Her step-father sends her to bed without supper and goes to chop wood. When she gets hungry and bites the hand off the candy man, she hears a scream from the wood pile. Her step-father comes in missing his hand, and demands she surrender the candy. To show him there is no danger, she bites the head off. 6 pages.
"Reunion"
Young Lillian marries an older man, but falls in love with another young man. Her elderly husband is sick, so she will not run off with the young man, but they tryst every two years at a secluded lake. Finally, her husband dies, but she has learned that her lover died two years ago. She goes to the lake to remember him, and he has not missed the date, regardless of his 'condition.' 7 pages.
