Adam Warlock, denied his homecoming to Earth as a result of his struggle with the Star Thief, sets out for the stars. He struggles for control of his being with his vampiric Soul Gem. Thanos works on his plans for stellar genocide, and sends Gamora to follow Warlock, but she is attacked by Drax the Destroyer. Story continues in Marvel Team-Up (1972) #55.
