"Showdown!"
Magneto attacks research facilities in Australia and New Zealand while the X-Men sit helpless in Magneto's Antarctic base. But Storm breaks free and sets the trap for Magneto as he is ambushed by the X-men fighting as a team but as they defeat Magneto, they inadvertently turn loose the power of the volcano that comes crashing down on the base. Magneto, Phoenix and Beast escape but Beast can not get very far with an unconscious Jean and collapse in the Antarctic snow.
