"To Pierce the Barrier"
*We learn more of Talon's world, that Earth has become a place of life-threatening radiation, with only certain "zones" where it is safe to inhabit, making the world's civilization a fractured reality. Talon is the Lord of Zone 27. As Talon heals within the confines of Bronnis' lab, he dreams of Paris, his wife, stranded in an adjoining Zone. Elsewhere, Spere sends test subjects into the energy barriers dividing the Zones, in the hopes of seizing power by making the Zones traversable. We see into the world of Talon's alter ego; Terrence Allen, CEO of Atlantis Bank, and meet his assistant, who ponders Allen's absence and mysterious private life. Talon awakes from his restorative slumber, and Bronnis informs him of the number of urgent calls for Talon's help. Manx has announced his intention to stick around and Talon gets the idea that Manx might make a good replacement. Bronnis announces that he has tracked an energy signal back to Spere's lab, and that Spere's recent experiments to breach the barriers may have destabilized the Continuum, endangering the entire planet.
