The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck were done for a completely different purpose than the additional chapters found in this Companion, and done in a completely different style. These stories are enclosed in a framing sequence of Donald doing some manner of excavation work that Scrooge has ordered in the Money Bin mounds. The digging uncovers Scrooge's old traveler trunk that holds all his keepsakes of those happier days.
