The Vulcan Chronicles
They're the first alien race viewers encountered on Star Trek, and have been a fundamental part of the series for the past 45 years. We delve beneath the cold logical exterior of the Vulcans to discover their hidden depths.
Children of the Forge
We think of Vulcans as cold, dispassionate creatures. Subtle. Stoic. Serene. But as we get to know them, we come to understand that these are merely the topmost layers of a deeply complex people – a race engaged in a constant struggle to contain their inner volatility within a tightly wound cloak of control. We profile a dozen of the best known representatives of the race – from the philosopher Surak to the wise Tuvok lost in the Delta Quadrant on board the Starship Voyager.
Meet the Crew: Spock
For more than 40 years, Mr. Spock has been used as a means of immediate branding of the entire Star Trek franchise. Funny how the one character most identifiable with a science fiction series purported to be a vehicle for exploring “the human condition” is, in fact, an alien although "there is plenty of reason to believe that Spock may reach equilibrium between his human and Vulcan sides at a much younger age in this new timeline – with the counsel and guidance of Sarek and his older self."
Alien Spotlight
An overview of the development of the Vulcan race across the Star Trek franchise, from Mr. Spock's first appearance in "The Cage" through to the destruction of the planet in the 2009 film, as well as a look ahead to Vulcan's place in Star Trek Online...
