*While rescuing settlers from a storm on planet Virgil Nine, the Maru is infested by a maggot-like creature which attaches itself to Harper’s boot. Despite their best efforts, Dylan and his crewmates are unable to stop these creatures from invading the Andromeda. Soon, all hands are battling the weird, metal-eating slime monsters. Making matters worse, the 300-year-old ghost of an Andromeda crew member named Eddie Aldrich haunts the4 starship, seeking revenge against Dylan for a perceived betrayal, He tries to blow up Andromeda, but Captain Hunt convinces Eddie that he was wrong, that he can electrocute the maggots and redeem himself in the process.
