Phoney Bone manoeuvres his way around the fact that Smiley’s wearing a cow suit, explaining that they’re planning a promotion for the Great Cow Race. He’s just about got Fone Bone convinced that he knows nothing of the Rat Creatures’ plans, either, when Smiley informs him that Lucius plans to tear his head off his body if he doesn’t get back to the tavern kitchen.
