*”Farscape’s creator, Rockne S. O’Bannon, returned to the fold with an excellent, taut story introducing Aeryn’s mother and her murderous mission. Wonderfully realized by actress Linda Cropper, Xhalax Sun is not what Aeryn expects, or what the audience would hope for. Mercilessly brutal and tortured by past memories, she holds her estranged daughter to a Peacekeeper standard our heroine has long-since abandoned, and this can only lead to heartbreak. Director Peter Andrikidis finds the dark and treacherous underbelly of Crais’ potential betrayal, as well as Aeryn’s misguided hope regarding her mother – fertile ground for action and suspense. The sets were a logistical and creative challenge fro the mighty Tim Ferrier’s production design skills, and Claudia Black’s impassioned, emotional performance anchors and drives this great ep forward.” - DK *Source: Back of card
