*”I knew that the season’s ‘physical’ end had already happened in the previous episode, so I was desperate to find an equally moving ‘psycholgical’ conclusion. Settling on the wedding imagery, director Andrew Prowse and I drew together the emotional pieces until we knew they were right, with Ben and Claudia intimately involved (it was Claudia who suggested the coin flip ending). The juxtaposition of our alien friends on earth, as well as the pomp and ceremony of Crichton’s fantasized nuptials, served as an excellent backdrop to get inside our lead character’s head.
