Cover Art of Sandman (1989) #17.
*Blocked novelist Richard Madoc purchases Calliope, one of the nine muses, from an elderly writer/mystic who had captured her in his youth. Locking Calliope in his attic, Madoc enjoys immediate artistic inspiration and commercial success. Calliope frantically prays to any and all powers for rescue, but the only one left in a position to help her is her resentful ex-lover, Morpheus. His bitterness faded, Dream comes to her aid, flooding Madoc's mind with an overdose of ideas. Driven nearly mad by the dam-burst of inspirations, Madoc frees Calliope. Morpheus stops Madoc's flow of ideas... completely and permanently. *Source: Back of card
**NOTE: Art on the front of the card is the same as Sandman Trading Cards (Promo) #CI-6 but the overall color is slightly darker. As well, the back of the card has an issue synopsis instead of promotional copy for the Trading Card series.
