*Barbie faces the Cuckoo: a manifestation of her younger self, an "imaginary fiend" who conquered Barbie's childhood dreamscape. Now the cuckoo wishes to experience new worlds, but she cannot leave this one as long as it endures. She needs the amulet, and Barbie's enchantment-induced cooperation, and possibly Barbie's death, to induce Morpheus to destroy this dreamscape. Despite the brave efforts of Hazel, Foxglove and Thessaly, the Cuckoo succeeds, and the Dream lord reduces the enchanted kingdom to sand.
