*The enigmatic Guinan is the popular host of the Ten-Forward lounge. Her origins are unknown, except perhaps to Captain Jean-Luc Picard, who is the only person on the U.S.S. Enterprise who knew her before she joined the crew. Guinan has described her relationship with Picard as "beyond friendship and beyond family." Guinan comes from a race of "listeners," a trait that enhances the inviting atmosphere of Ten-Forward. She's at least several hundred years old and has had dealings in her past with the Q.
