*"The portrait study of Luke on the face of this card was originally drawn in the winter of 1979," explains Dave Stevens, "and included in a group of 'audition drawings' submitted to Lucasfilm for the Star Wars Sunday strip." Stevens, best known for his creation, The Rocketeer, also wrote and drew two complete Sunday pages at the request of Lucasfilm.
