Bad hair day? Jabba the Hutt seems unhappy in these developmental sketches by Joe Johnston. Actually, George Lucas had a second chance with Jabba, who appeared as a humanoid in a scene that was cut from Star Wars. For Return of the Jedi, the artists started out again with a human form, but with jowly, sagging flesh and a drooping chin that completely hid any neck. Once centipede-like legs were eliminated, Jabba the slug was born. *Source: Back of card
