*After hearing about this "vile gangster" for two movies, we finally meet Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi, and he's anything but a disappointment. But how much fin is it to imagine Jabba as a sinister, ultra-deadly assassin along the lines of Asajj Ventress and General Grievous? Says illustrator Tim Burgard: "At the time I painted the card nobody had a clue what happened during the Clone Wars, or anything before that. Jabba and the Jedi Knights might have been on opposite sides of a fight, and I thought taking a fat worm and making him physically dangerous on the level of the Jedi was a cool idea." Cool indeed, but a little too radical for Lucasfilm editors in the '90s. *Source: Back of card
