*Shrunken Head (The Whistler)
An old man brings back a souvenir of jungle black magic to the civilized world, resulting in a nightmare of terror!
Opening: (eerie whistle) "I am the Whistler, and I know many things for I walk by night. I know many strange tales, many secrets hidden in the hearts of men and women who have stepped into the shadows. Yes, I know the nameless terrors of which they dare not speak..."
The Whistler was one of radio's most popular narrators. He often played the voice of the sub-conscience, taunting the murderer and goading him to his inevitable doom. The stories were full of twists and turns, the biggest of which came in the final act. That's when the killers realized what the Whistler had been snickering about throughout the episode: The forgotten clue or damning evidence that would send them to the gallows. As the body count grew, so did the ratings. *Source: Back of card
