About UltraForce
This line of UltraForce action figures is based off of characters appearing in the cartoon "UltraForce" as well as in the various Malibu comic books. The UltraForce line stayed true to its' comic book roots, having a designated number in the series for each version of each character.
While only 7 main characters were produced for this line, each figure came with variants; especially Prime, who has at least 5 different exclusive variants with specific themes or alternate packaging.
The "Ultra 5000" figures in the UltraForce line were intended to be offered one per case as an incentive for collectors. They featured black packaging and came with their own specific number in the line as well, however, not all the figures touted as 'limited to 5000' were actually produced to that specific quantity. In reality, only a few of the "Ultra 5000" figures actually made it to the level of having 5000 in existance. In the case of the figures that have come to be known as "504"s, only 504 of each were produced to fulfill any obligations with contracts. As is the case in any collectible line, due to the fewer number produced, the "504"s are the most sought after by collectors.
Several figures in the UltraForce line were also exclusive to various retail stores such as K-Mart and Target, and at least one figure was available as an exclusive only to comic shops.
While the numbering system denotes a potential for at least 25 figures, a second line of figures were never produced. Prototypes exist for an unproduced set that included Prime Evil, Rune and Lord Pumpkin.
