About Sparky Watts
Sparky Watts began his cartoon career in April of 1940 in newspaper syndication. This lasted only a few years before the creator, Gordon "Boody" Rogers went to war.
While in the service, Sparky Watts was being reprinted in some of Columbia Comic Groups comics along with other strips of the time. Sparky got his own title published by Publication Enterprises. The strips were satirical in style and included characters named Doc Static and Slap Happy. Sparky Watts career ended in 1949 when Columbia Comics folded.
