I do not understand why this cannot be fixed. It is absolutely ridiculous that the PayPal Pending problem has persisted for this long without any attempt (seemingly) to repair it. I just had another first time CCL user place an order that didn't go through and abandoned it because the site is not "secure".

How long has this been an issue? 10-15 years? I can't afford to lose sales. Not only is money not hitting my pocket, CCL is also losing out by not fixing this.

There are a few things I would like to be done with the site but all of them added up are nowhere near as important as dealing with this issue. In my opinion.

I don't care anymore about a site update. My wishlist for things to be fixed are the security certificate issue, and the buggy search feature within stores (ie, pressing "back" on the browser causing the buyer to wind up at the very beginning of a long search/sorting process). Show up, fix it, then Joe and Company can disappear again and I'll call it even.

I STRONGLY agree....as a buyer this is definitely worrisome and discourages buyers to continue sending payment info via msg

For what it's worth, I always send the buyer my PayPal handle and info and ask them to send payment directly to me. That way their PayPal info isn't being sent across the messaging system, if it makes them uncomfortable.

The most common occurrence I've had with it was shopping thru the window the software opens. Opening a window to ccl in another browser never had it happen to me but almost every time I forgot and tried to buy thru the softwares window it did.

The other was people intentionally leaving the order PayPal Pending as a type of free layaway. Just check out, go to Paypal and then X out of the window at PayPal instead of paying. Then at a later time they could send the funding or pay an alternate way letting the items be manually deleted or order completed manually.

So the question becomes, which case was it with your customer? Did they go to pay thru the software causing the problem, did they go to pay and change their mind after the PayPal page opened causing the PayPal Pending or did they simply want free layaway until they had time to check everywhere else on the planet for better deals or wanting to keep it available in case they still wanted it when the paycheck/allowance comes in at a later date?

I have to say I'm getting to be very fond of managed payments so most of my sales no longer go thru PayPal at all. CCL never did make that an option aka blocking PayPal entirely and its nonrefundable fee's.

They tend to say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Expecting ccl to suddenly change and fix stuff would seem to be insane at this point so you might consider some alternative venues like I did. CCL is now in Time Out since it would be considered insane to keep complaining about the same problems and limitations over and over and over and over again. Did anything from the 2016 improvement list they requested ever get implemented? Coupon sale/discount codes, multiple sales tax options, ability to turn off PayPal entirely, minimum purchase to check out by $ or item qty, Maximum qty of same item purchase, etc, etc...... There are a couple long threads buried here somewhere with more details back when there used to be hope.

In electronic transactions, sometimes there is a problem with the payment process. However, it is difficult to completely fix it. Every time I have a problem like that, I feel quite worried splatoon 3

Well, just lost a $63 order because of this problem. Person never responded to my PM explaining the situation and offering a solution. To make matters worse, I accidentally marked it Complete instead of Cancelled. Wall

I am at my wits end about this issue. I am not smart enough to know how this occurs or why it seems impossible to fix it. Never gotten a reasonable explanation (or any) from Management either. Can someone who knows more about why it happens and/or what can be done about it, if anything, chime in?

Takes money out of my pocket.
Takes money out of CCL's pocket.
Turns away potential future buyers.
Creates bad word of mouth. (Hey, don't buy from CCL! Site is not secure and doesn't work with PayPal!)

Why? Angry

It has been explained several times, but it continues to be a problem, as WE HAVE TO KEEP EXPLAINING IT!

This 'large barrier to entry' is getting wider.

This could be a KILLER site. It just isn't.

Why? I'm sure if I listed 10 reasons, 100 more could be added.

I make the LEAST HERE of any of the 7 vectors of sale I have, despite my prices being LOWER here than on the other 6 vectors. If it worked, I would spend more time.

Personally, I would pay DOUBLE each month if the site worked as it should, and if Loco Joe were to ask I would still do it. It looks as if he does not care, but I feel he does, but you gotta make $$$ for the family to eat.

Welcome to 2023.

There are many instances where PayPal hangs up when purchasing through the website. I would even surmise that those who have a PayPal Pending when using the software would be MORE inclined to complete the order manually, because they already trust this place enough to subscribe to the software. It's those who do not use the software that are more wary.

I am a purchaser! I just had this happen with an order I placed on Sunday.

I placed the order, was directed to PayPal, but instantly when I logged in, the entire order crashed.

I thought I just lost the order, no email or anything to say PayPal Pending... which I didn't know happened. I thought my order was just deleted.

Then, yesterday, I was like, I really want those comics and will place the order again... but some of the books I wanted from the same seller were not there. Then I pressed my Purchases dropdown and saw my order from Sunday was PayPal Pending.

I contacted the seller and they are picking the order, then they will send me a direct PayPal payment request.

But I agree, this issue needs to be fixed. If I was a seller and this happened, I would be upset.

I only followed up because I want the comics for my collection and since my local shop doesn't give discounts on variant Amazing Spider-man covers, I have been buying them from the same seller every few months from here.

It’s deeply frustrating that the PayPal Pending issue continues to affect sales after such a long time, reportedly 10–15 years. Losing customers due to perceptions of insecurity not only impacts individual businesses but also the platform itself. Addressing this long-standing issue should be a top priority, as it directly impacts user trust and financial outcomes. Resolving this would have a more significant impact than any other site improvements combined.

Actually, I haven't had this problem since the new updates. Looks like the glitch has been fixed and we no longer have to worry about it happening again.

The problem has gone away for me, too. But what's up with that post? I've never seen a rank of Guest, or groups for Guest and Guestv2. I think I've seen admin use "Guest" accounts before to test things, but why post something like this. Is it a hack? AI? Skynet? Has the forums reached singularity and will soon kill us all? I'm very concerned here.

It was a spam account. There was some hidden link that was in White that couldn't be read but was still there. Probably hoping that someone would accidentally click it? No worries, I edited it out of the post and deleted the User and blocked the IP.

I left the post up because it really does no harm since I neutered it and I thought it was actually a pretty decent attempt at spamming. Most of the junk I delete has no relevance to the topic of the post and is just filled with bogus links. Whomever this one was actually took the time to read through the thread and tailor something that looked like it might belong.
