Any thoughts on this one? It sounds like the mirror has five different images under the scratch off covering randomly mixed.
Does scratching the scratch off stuff off the book lower the grade since it would now be incomplete and potentially damaged by the scratching itself?
It sounds like a gimmick that even if you don't scratch it off, the scratch off stuff is subject to getting rubbed off some in storage.
It sounds like a stupid gimmick that's either going to flop or explode in orders as people chase one or more of the images covered up by scratch off stuff or try getting complete sets of all 5.

WE WANT HEINICKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For those picking, Heiney is now with the Chargers andhas 2 completions for 24 yards last time I checked this year. :)
Less than a year ago you didn't want us to be able to have the 2nd pick in the draft.
Seems like you're making progress, now to apply some of that to your Prime Time picks to see if you can catch up to me.

Scratch off like a lottery ticket? Sounds pretty stupid to me and an obvious cash grab attempt.
Yeah, grading those things will be a headache.
Only five variants, huh? I guess it could be worse. Crazy Jane does have 64 different personalities.

I imagine they'll be treated like the black bagged comics DC once did. One unscratched cover, and the rest "scratched off Frank Miller (or whoever) cover."
Although "scratched/unscratched" doesn't sound very professional. Any alternative words we can use?

I bag and board everything but I can see some stores having problems with people scratching them off partially in store just to see which they're getting if they aren't polybagged from DC. Even more likely if there's a HOT version selling for more than the others. What's it take, a second to slide a fingernail across an area like that enough to identify something?

Reminds me of Marvel Universe Series I trading cards from Impel. The chase hologram cards were always on the top in the pack. I'd go to the local supermarket and find every pack with a small hole poked in the top of every one. Didn't happen as often at card shops, though, where cashiers would be watching.

I know things are different in different areas, but I don't see this being a big deal. At least not around here. Nobody gives a darn about doom patrol around here. A couple guys who get almost everything dc, and a couple old farts who hate anything current and are stuck in the 60s and only order stuff lile doom patrol and legion.
And none of them care about variants, much less gimmicks.

Yeah, but this gimmick is new and different enough it could bring out all the speculators.

I skipped ordering any. I expect maybe 2 Doom Patrol customers based on repeat past Doom Patrol interest and maybe a new or two if it gets some hype. They should be satified with A and B options. The speculators are where the gamble is. I figure it's an issue you need to order extremely heavy to have enough for set and spec chasers or just skip it which I did. The B Cover looks nice and both A and B covers will be returnable which the scratch off isn't.
Quote:
This product is returnable from 5/1/2023 to 5/31/2023.
I'm starting to like the cut off the cover and take a picture return options. $13.02 balance on next weeks invoice thanks to December cut and strip credit applied.
I didn't see any of the spec sights talking it up so it may fly under the radar and be underordered.
