I don't think I'm getting this. I also have a bad feeling it's a sign of things to come. Is it going to come brown bagged? Are we going to have to set up curtained off back rooms for Funko pops like the old movie rental places? Is that warning an official rating meaning we can't sell to any age that brings it to the counter?

Enquiring minds want to know before that slasher Winnie the Pooh gets one. No telling what they're going to do to Bambi and Mickey when they hit public domain. Ooh

Shop at My Store
If your town has undercover cops policing your store, waiting to see if you sell a Funko to a 17-year old (or, GASP, use Media Mail), your town has issues.

Pretty sure the "rating" is just a case of CYA.

My town doesn't but my State has made continual headlines for that for the last few years. Trying to bust comic stores selling what they deem inappropriate content to kids like the Gender Queer graphic novel and comics that contain nudity. Even E-Bay's gotten involved and has been kicking multiple titles off the sight and with each violation they remove they increase the penalty and duration of the time they ban stores, warning, then 3 days, then a week, then 2 weeks etc....

Media Mails a different topic and that's the Post Office that has to enforce that preferably at the drop off spots but they also inspect and bust packages anywhere in route which a recent round of inspections at the Sandston regional facility and something like 11 out of 12 busted when checked for everything from comics to toasters shipping illegally. You also can assist them with simple repeated reporting of the criminals who abuse the system so their local Post Offices can become aware of what's happening under their noses by them NOT doing their job correctly.

This is more about trying to comply with the concerns for this Funko item which I'm not sure if it's intended to be a suggestion or a requirement to adhere to since it's a new thing. They've managed to produce other toys from R Rated movies without this concern. I'm not sure why this one should be different unless they intend to start pushing the envelope with others to come. A little clarity would be nice since Diamond doesn't have any warning and EE does so not even the suppliers appear to be consistent with the message yet.

Funko has had suggested age-appropriate markings on their Pops for years. Some have them on the front of the package (bottom, right-hand corner), some have them on the bottom, and some don't have them at all. They are usually based on the content of the property the Pop is depicting, not the Pop itself. For example, all of the original Friends Pops are marked 14+.

Thanks for the tip. I'll do some more looking but I've never noticed anything before or seen a warning with the Pops. Take this Carrie Pop. I'm pretty sure it looks worse than the bear and was probably an R rated movie but all I can find on the box is some microscopic writing at the bottom almost impossible for me to read without my magnify glass saying 36 months in 3 languages.

I'm trying to skip ordering anything I can't list in the E-Bay store which I may want to do with the thousands of Pops one day. For now only comics go over and I also worry about community standards with a Masonic temple as landlord meeting upstairs, a church across the street and a little girls dance studio a little further down the same block. I'll look around at some of the other boxes.
