Shop at My Store
I have 2 copies of Ms. Mystic Deathwatch 2000 2-A both poly-bagged. The current image in our DB has the trading card - Mite. The ones I have contain Shealth and Gymcrack.
This is the one currently in the DB. I do not have this one in hand.
I found one for sale at MCS that has Horror in it. Another on the four letter site has Highperion, another with Devilspawn, another with Spanng Ting...
Think I just answered my own question! At first I was thinking that there might only be a limited number of cards used as the insert but the more I look into it the more I think it might be the whole set of cards pulled at random. I haven't been able to find anything definitive.
Any thoughts?
Random note: What kind of super hero name is Gymcrack? Reminds me of that time when I was at the YMCA and a fat guy dropped his towel on the way to the showers...

Yes, I've seen those and I am also aware of the X-Force #1 that has five different cards. The thing with those is that there is a known number of how many different cards were used. So far I have found evidence of seven different cards inserted with Ms Mystic Deathwatch 2000 #2.
Should every one of them be a variant? How many cards are in that particular set? Can each of those cards be found inserted into this issue?
I have no problem adding the two I have as variants but first wanted to see if there is a consensus as to whether they qualify or not.

This came up years ago with (I think) these exact books. No, they should not be included as variants.
X-Force #1 was limited to a single issue with 5 cards. Also, the secondary market indicates different value to different cards.
Darker Image was limited to a single issue with 3 cards. Mostly, this was just done due to its simplicity.
This is 16 issues each with any of 30 cards. There's not additional market value and the addition of 464 variants was (and still is) a pointless burden on stores. I'd rather see a rollout of direct vs newsstand editions than these being added. And I actually collect these books and cards.

Yeah, once I realized that it would be hundreds of variants I knew it shouldn't happen.
For sure if it were only a limited number like the aforementioned X-Force and Darker Image books - but not these.
I am just going to put which card is inserted into the Market Notes. Not that everybody looks at those...
