I've heard of some guys that only collect #2's
I know some guys only collect this charater or that artist ect.

Has anyone put together a collection based on the Seduction of the Innocent?

When you look in overstreet and see the obsure books with (... mentioned on pg 84 of SOTI)
Has anyone put together a run of books mentioned in SOTI?
Is there a handy-dandy check list as opposed to combing Overstreet to extract all the references?

this would be a neat collection

Interseting concept of themes. Just #2's? Odd.

That's a "collector". I'm into this for the reading & enjoyment.

I'm collecting specifically Punisher comics and appearances, so I only have 1 or 2 issues of most series.

Pretty much if it says Marvel on the cover, I get it. I'm talking backissues, not the newer crap.

For me I trying to finish up with Marvel Giant-Size books from the mid-1970's.

And I have about half of the Marvel 30 cent variants, and about a quarter of the 35 cent variants.

I've been buying 1970's-80's sealed bagged pre-packs for a few years now...
I think it's pretty cool they made it this long with out being opened. Also, they mark the beginning of the end of newsstand distribution of comics. (We all know how that turned out!) Even DC experimented with them and released Superman and some other titles bagged under the Whitman imprint.

And recently I'm on a X-mas giveaway kick. 'specialy the ones from W.T. Grant Dept. Stores 1940's-'60s.
These books are way under-valued right now. You can pick them up for $5-$20 except for "The Little Fir Tree" with Walt Kelly art. There's one in ebay stores with a Buy It Now of $600...way out of my bottom-feeder price range.

Interesting you say that. Up until 7-8 years ago, I pretty much had everything he did. Do you have a copy of ACA Comics #1? I added it to the data base a few weeks ago. Byrnes 1st published work.

Have you been here?

Yeah I have it. You can check it out on the data base under ACA Comix (of course). I even got it signed by him at the SD comic con 1992.
I'm not signed on the Byrne forum I just browse. I enjoy the commission art. Do you own any original Byrne art?
I bought the cover of Captain America #291 years ago for $150 cdn.

I tend to collect titles like Batman and ASM, but recently I've begun to collect writer / artist teams. I'm a fan of Loeb and Sale, so I've been looking for every issue they've done together.

I pretty much collect everything because I enjoy reading it all. I totally understand the #2 issue thing as that is usually just the people that are in it for the value.

My theme outside of everything is Moon Knight. Favorite character and I try to get every appearance that he has made.

I'll go after anything with a cover that I like, or if it sounds like it has a good story. After those initial purchases, if I decide I really like the series, I'll try to complete it.

I'm looking to put together some "themed" runs this year (which will probably spill over into next year too). I want to get all of the appearances of Werewolf By Night and Frankenstein - I have the individual full runs on each, but just need to get the books where they made appearances.
I also want to get all of the books with art/cover by Mike Ploog! He's the best!

Kind of off the subject, but I actually liked the Abadazad books. I know there were only three and I kind of wanted to know how it kept going. Well, the other week or so I was at Target and I noticed that these stories are now in little hardback books that contain the whole story (much more than the three comics went). The books also included other covers by Mike Ploog. I didn't pick them up, but I wish I had. I've never found them since.
