"Joe Public", "Pagan" and "Greed"
Batman follows some loose ends that lead him to a creature who is "stealing" people. Along the way he runs across two new heroes, Joe Public and Pagan. After he finds a mangled Joe Public and others, Batman learns that the creature is actually an alien parasite. Just as the creature gets the better of Batman, Joe Public miraculously comes back to life with enhanced bio-powers. Batman deduces that it must have had something to do with the internal attack the creature had on Joe Public.
