"Zukala's Daughter"
Conan continues his journey in Zamora, and on his way to the City of Shadizar, passes through a village at an unfortunate time. The villagers live under a cruel master, who, if taxes are late, sends a supernatural tigress to menace them. Conan faces down the tigress, who has him at her mercy, but lets him go. The tigress is Zephra, daughter of Zukala, gifted as a seer. The villagers hire Conan to rid them of Zukala, who taxes them mercilessly. Conan takes the job, but Zukala has summoned the demon Jaggta-Noga to complete his daughter's job. Conan meets Zephra, who professes her love for Conan, and begs mercy for her father. Zukala finds them and attacks Conan, who proves to much for the wizard. The demon Jaggta-Noga tips the scales, but the tigress defends Conan. Zukala dispatches the demon and departs with his daughter, vowing revenge.
