Young Billy likes to lose himself in fantasy comics, but his dad makes him hunt down his dog, who has gone missing in the rain. He finds his dog in a field, just in time to witness an alien space ship drop off a prisoner for a one-year sentence of exile. He can't make out the figure, but runs to tell his parents. When they return to check his story, there is a gnarled old tree on the spot, nothing else. The boy becomes a joke, yet the spot has notoriety for tourists, who, one year later, are privileged to see the ship return, and the tree board it, its sentence served.
