Superboy in "How Luthor Met Superboy"
Superboy meets and befriends Lex Luthor, a teenaged scientist who is his biggest fan. Luthor even creates an antidote for kryptonite for Superboy. But when Luthor accidentally sets fire to his lab, Superboy comes to his rescue, blowing out the flames. The blast of air knocks a bottle of acid into the kryptonite antidote, producing a gas which causes all of Lex's hair to fall out.

Angered at the loss of his experiments and his hair, Luthor vows vengeance against Superboy. Luthor then traps Superboy with a kryptonite meteor, but Superboy survives using the last few drops of Luthor's kryptonite antidote.

Superboy refuses to take his former friend to jail and tells him to straighten out. luthor then vows that he will one day destroy Superboy.

Aquaman in "The Second Deluge!"
Captain Noah, who at first appears to be a harmless crackpot, tells Aquaman and Aqualad that he predicts a second deluge that will doom the world. He wants their permission to take two sea creatures of every species and put them on his ark.

Soon afterward a violent storm forms, threatening ships and planes at sea. It turns out that Captain Noah is actually a scientist who has found a way to extract gold from seawater by pumping millions of gallons of seawater into the clouds. Aquaman soon arrests the Captain and stops his machine.
