Item Bio
This issue contains part three of the cut out Flesh card game. One of the reader letters talks about the need to look after the environment and perhaps ban aerosols to protect the ozone layer. They also suggest that alternative sources of power should be considered such as solar, hydro, wind or even possibly the sea – probably quite forward thinking for the 1970s.

Invasion – Dartmoor: Episode 1.
Renowned aero-engineer Samual Frost has been captured by the Volgan invaders and is being held at the new Dartmoor maximum-security prison. Bill Savage and Peter Silk have orders from Resistance H.Q. to rescue Frost as he’ll be helpful to their cause. Savage and Silk ambush the Volgans guarding Samual Frosts work party and escape with the aero-engineer into the moor surrounding the prison. However, when they return to their hidden getaway vehicle they are set upon by the ‘Mad Dogs’ of the moor…

There is a message given to readers at the end of this story to be decoded by the code breaker wheel contained in the Red Alert Survival Wallet given away in issue 3.

Flesh – Flesh Book I: Episode 10.
Tyrannosaurs led by Old One Eye are attacking the Dino-Express that has been stopped by a rock fall blocking the tracks. Joe Brontowski and Claw Carver are fighting back using the cannons mounted on the train but the dinosaurs are gaining the upper hand. Earl Reagan takes control and rams the train through the fallen rocks and speeds away from the attacking dinosaurs towards the trans-time base. The train has been damaged and is only able to stop once it reaches the base by ploughing through the buffers at the end of the line. The surviving passengers are jubilant but Earl Reagan knows that their safety will be short lived as there is a war coming between man and the dinosaurs…

Harlem Heroes – Harlem Heroes: Episode 10.
The Harlem Heroes are playing the Montezuma Mashers and Giant wins first possession of the ball. Artie Gruber shoots his flamer-gun from the crowd but misses Giant and hits one of the Mashers, Benny Gray, instead. The Heroes spot Gruber in the crowd and fly after their assailant. Giant is able to strike Gruber in the head with a flying kick but the cyborg isn’t stopped and flees into the Mashers pit with the Heroes close behind.

Dan Dare – Dan Dare: Sequence 10.
Dan Dare and Commander Monday are aboard the crippled Odyssey between the warring Earthen and Biog fleets. The Earthen fleet is wiped out by the Biogs acid slime and moon throwing attacks. Dan Dare embarks on a suicide mission in a Kamikaze Craft (K-Craft) and makes a dent in the Biog fleet after using all four of the Tachyon warheads he has aboard. With all of Dan Dares weapons spent, it’s Commander Mondays turn for death and glory as he embarks on a final trip, “The Sun Trip”, and intends to take all of the remaining Biogs with him.

M.A.C.H.1 – On the Roof of the World (single episode).
John Probe has been sent to the Armenian mountains to capture the eastern spymaster, Igor Khuvosky. Probe parachutes in on his target and quickly apprehends Khuvosky and begins to escort him off the mountain. During their descent, elite mountain troops attack Probe to free Khuvosky. Probe gets the better of the troops but Khuvosky has had the chance to flee further down the mountain during the skirmish. Probe picks up the chase and is able to recapture Khuvosky and takes him back to the London H.Q.

Judge Dredd – Robot Wars: Part 1.

First appearance of Walter the Wobot.

A carpenter robot named ‘Call-Me-Kenneth’ has decided he’s had enough of being a slave to the fleshy humans and goes on a killing spree. Judge Dredd is called in to rid Mega-City One of this new menace. Dredd tries to stop Call-Me-Kenneth by shooting his head off but the robots control circuits are protected within his chest and he continues on his rampage using his carpentry attachments as weapons. Dredd finally brings the robot down by electrocuting him but is left wondering if this is just the start of a “Full scale war with the Robots!”
