Shanna the She-Devil (1972) 1-A

"Shanna the She-Devil!"

Shanna O'Hara has shaken off the civilized world. She grew up the daughter of a diamond miner who accidentally shot his own wife in the wilds of Africa, thinking that it was a savage beast. Shanna's life has also been marred with other gun-related tragedies, where the animals in her charge fell victim to senseless killers while Shanna was environmental specialist for the Central Park Municipal Zoo, including her beloved leopard Julani.

Now, she is Shanna the She-Devil, wearing only the pelt of her beloved, Julani, keeping Julani's cubs Ina and Biri as constant companions. She patrols the preserves of Africa, making them safe for the wildlife, and fights off the unwelcome advances of the Preserve Warden Patrick (?). In this issue, Shanna must tackle the relentless ivory poachers who violate the Preserve.
