Thor has been given permission by Odin to wed Jane Foster, but first Odin must transform Jane into an immortal, and she must face a trial. Jane falters and is sent back to her mortal existence. Thor, grieving heavily, is sent on a mission, and when he falters, the beautiful Sif is there to help him. Odin's matchmaking has succeeded.
