Compared to most of the other new #1's, this book is not half bad. I think it can go somewhere positive. Although, I'm not sure how much the dynamic of this book will change when all of the "dark" characters become a team.
Unlike I, Vampire, the way this book is set up may actually sucessfully introduce the Vertigo characters to the DCU. Not suprisingly, Batman is in the comic to try to make this happen. And, unlike the Justice League, at least I get to see all (or the majority) of the team in the first comic!
The art is uneven and weak at times as well as the story - specifically some of the silly exchanges between characters (Batman again).
Finally, couldn't DC come up with a better name for this book?
All in all - while it has it problems, it lays a solid base to work from - 3.5/5.
