I noticed there wasn't a thread about this movie. Has anyone seen it? I just saw it last night at the cheap-o theater. It was better than expected. I thought Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone had way better chemistry than Dunst & Maguire. It had more emotional depth than Raimi's Spider-Man, I thought, which was due largely to Andrew Garfield. When Maguire cried, I wanted to laugh; when Garfield got emotional, I wanted to get emotional right along with him.

Still got the feeling that I'd seen this movie before, though, what with the origin story re-do, plus the whole Lizard thing was too similiar to the Green Goblin in the first film. In fact, the biggest detraction for this movie I thought was the whole Lizard conflict--the set up, the motivations, even down to some pretty bad CGI. But I thought the other aspects of the film made up for these faults.

I didn't really buy Dennis Leary in his role, but the payoff at the end was well done.

I actually enjoyed this reboot more than the previous three. I could've done without the origin tale though. I mean really I think everyone in the free world has a basic understanding of how Peter Parker got his powers by now.

I enjoyed it a lot, too. I wouldn't say it was better than the Sam Raimi films, but it wasn't very far behind them either. And the action-scenes were great in this one!

I really enjoyed watching this. Granted, I really didn't like the first Raimi film, because I hated the look of the Goblin. That ruined the film. And we should never speak of #3 again. That should be the 11th Commandment.

Another origin story was kind of sad, but at least they mixed it up a little bit. Having Gwen be a science person was a little strange, but ... what are ya gonna do?
